Building The Sounds of Adventure

Instructor: Mr. David Allen - A 2011 graduate of the Cab Calloway School of the Arts in Stage Technology. Along with over five years of experience working technical theatre both in community theaters, and professionally, he also holds positions as a sound and recording engineer. As a musician, David has been studying both privately and independently for over 10 years, ranging in instruments of study from piano, to alto saxophone, to voice. Along with extensive musical theatre and vocal jazz experience, David has performed solo and in groups across Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and New York. Currently David is working on his Bachelor in Music for Sound Recording Technology at Ithaca College located in Ithaca, New York.

Ever wonder how the sounds of movies and Television seem so life like? This

camp is devoted to creative sound design through both sound recording and synthesis.

We will look into how foley art works and how to operate the equipment in capturing

these sounds. Students will learn how to build soundscapes and use them to convey

specific moods.The week will include a trip to Fort Christina State park to observe a

unique natural soundscape as well as spark creativity for student projects.
