- Class schedule and notes: Grade level: 8-11 • Students should have at least four years experience on their instrument. The following instruments are encouraged: trumpet, trombone, saxophone, piano, bass, drums, vibraphone, guitar, and percussion. Some experience in jazz music is helpful for rhythm section players (guitar, bass, drums, piano, vibraphone). Cab Calloway cannot provide wind instruments or guitars. • It is encouraged that students purchase a Real Book for use in the camp. • Mr. Bedell will try to bring in guest artists such as University of Delaware students and potentially faculty and professional musicians.
Students will study and develop an understanding of the jazz language, technique, history, and literature. At the end of the week they will perform for the camp.
