Moving Sounds

Instructor: Mr. David Allen - A 2011 graduate of the Cab Calloway School of the Arts in Stage Technology. Along with over five years of experience working technical theatre both in community theaters, and professionally, he also holds positions as a sound and recording engineer. As a musician, David has been studying both privately and independently for over 10 years, ranging in instruments of study from piano, to alto saxophone, to voice. Along with extensive musical theatre and vocal jazz experience, David has performed solo and in groups across Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and New York. Currently David is working on his Bachelor in Music for Sound Recording Technology at Ithaca College located in Ithaca, New York.

This camp will be based around the recording arts and sound design giving

students an introductory look into how a studio functions in recording as well as creating

sounds. We will look into the physical aspects of sound learning how it works and why

we perceive it as we do. The week will also focus around teaching students how to

operate recording equipment, and how to choose the right equipment for specific jobs.
