Passion for Symmetry
Hope you are familiar with the mind-blowing winding staircases, goggle-eyed fish and interlocking patterns and puzzles of Dutch artist M.C. Escher… because in this camp you will create your own “Tessellation Tee Shirt” using Escher’s printmaking and drawing techniques.

Barbara is an Art Educator in the Colonial School District. In her sixteenth year of teaching, she is the only art teacher at George Read Middle School. A 1995 graduate of the University of Texas in Art Education, she also has an Associate Degree in Illustration and Graphic Design from Harcum College in Bryn Mawr, PA and a Master of Education from Wilmington College specializing in Technology in the Classroom.
In Texas, she taught in the Segundo Barrio of El Paso, chaired the Department of Art at Guillen Middle School, and created the sixth grade art curriculum for El Paso SD. She was involved in writing grants and mural painting while living in the Southwest. She is on the strategic planning committee in the Colonial SD and developed the platform for and is Co-Chair of the Colonial SD Art Show. She became involved in El Paso theater scene and continues that interest in Delaware where she is a House Manager at The Grand Opera House.
