Technology. Along with over five years of experience working technical theatre both in
community theaters, and professionally, he also holds positions as a sound and
recording engineer. As a musician, David has been studying both privately and
independently for over 10 years, ranging in instruments of study from piano, to alto
saxophone, to voice. Along with extensive musical theatre and vocal jazz experience,
David has performed solo and in groups across Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and
New York. Currently David is working on his Bachelor in Music for Sound Recording Technology at Ithaca College located in Ithaca, New York.

- Instructor: Colleen Moretz - Has taught Fashion Design, Merchandising, Illustration, Advertising and Fashion Presentations at the University of Delaware in their Fashion Design and Apparel Department. She is now teaching in the Fashion Department at Immaculata University.
She has her MFA in Illustration with a concentration in Graphic Design. This has enabled Colleen to integrated multimedia digital technology into her fashion courses. Her students produce podcasts, photo stories and video casts to develop experience in media literacy.
Colleen is currently taking courses at Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City to further her knowledge of technology in the world of fashion.

- Instructor: Andrew Bedell - Has been playing saxophone for twelve years. He studied with John Scarpulla of Tower of Power and Diana Ross before studying with Broadway woodwind artist Todd Groves. While at the University of Delaware he performed in its Jazz Ensembles and Chamber Ensembles on soprano, alto, and tenor saxophones as well as flute. Andrew also led his own jazz quintet, performing at numerous recitals and venues in Newark and Wilmington. As a freelance musician Andrew has played in horn sections, rock and funk bands, and big bands at venues such as the Knitting Factory, Starland Ballroom, and The Queen Theatre. He has also been a part of numerous recording sessions in New York and Delaware.
As an educator Andrew has taught private saxophone lessons for six years. He directed his own big band while a sophomore and junior at the University of Delaware. He has also been on faculty at the University of Delaware Community Music School Jazz Camp.
Andrew Bedell is currently performing and recording in Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York while composing original music for his debut CD.
- Class schedule and notes: Grade level: 8-11
• Students should have at least four years experience on their instrument. The following instruments are encouraged: trumpet, trombone, saxophone, piano, bass, drums, vibraphone, guitar, and percussion. Some experience in jazz music is helpful for rhythm section players (guitar, bass, drums, piano, vibraphone). Cab Calloway cannot provide wind instruments or guitars.
• It is encouraged that students purchase a Real Book for use in the camp.
• Mr. Bedell will try to bring in guest artists such as University of Delaware students and potentially faculty and professional musicians.
Students will study and develop an understanding of the jazz language, technique, history, and literature. At the end of the week they will perform for the camp. Share on Facebook

- Instructor: Mrs. Valerie Kauffman has been an Art Educator for 18 years with the Caesar Rodney and the Capital School District. She currently teaches at William Henry Middle School in Dover, Delaware. Her education in Art has taken her as far as Wales, England, France, and Ireland. One of her favorite places in the world is Claude Monet's garden in Giverney, France. Innovation and creativity are encouraged in all of her classes as she provides programs that expose her students to many opportunities in medium and genre.
