In this class we will write poems and also explore poems in motion. We’ll look at model poems in innovative presentations like Poem Flow at poets.org, and animated poems at PBS’s Poetry Everywhere. The class will also explore some old-fashioned kinetic methods of writing, like the cut-up and the cento form to create our poems. Using PowerPoint software’s word animation, we’ll explore ways to highlight the kinetic qualities of words, to convey and extend a poem’s meaning. This class is for anyone who enjoys playing with words!
