How our camp works
The Weekly Themes:
Each of our seven weeks at CabSummer has a different theme. Why? Here in our summer program we enable students to gain skill and knowledge in the arts, and connect that knowledge with a theme. This form of learning is called arts integration. This interdisciplinary strategy enables students to gain knowledge and skill in one or more content areas simultaneously. Because most of the problems in the world cross several disciplines, learning from an interdisciplinary perspective makes good educational sense. Moreover, recent research provides support for arts integration as a way to expand thinking, construct meaning, and gain cultural knowledge. So, your child may have signed up for the Newspaper Making Camp, but they will also be working with the Website Design class…. or the recording studio class will work with an animation camp…. or….
